I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Human-Centered Computing at the University of Florida, as well as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. I previously received a B.S. in Digital Arts and Science in 2017 from the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering at UF. I was a member of a Human Computer Interaction lab (INIT Lab) throughout my undergrad, and I am now a part of the Ruiz Lab for my graduate career. The Ruiz Lab focuses on developing new natural user interfaces and new gestural interactions for virtual and augmented reality. My main research areas include examining how to design better touch and gesture interfaces that are tailored towards children, and understanding how children think about and use technology. Through my experiences, I have gained a desire to continue a career in research to design technology that better supports human endeavors, especially for underrepresented populations
such as children.
